A Kids Yoga Teacher’s Next Steps

Here we are in the Summer of 2023 with time and space to create.

So now you are all caught up in the “lost year” of Yoga with Ms. Brandon. I decided to take a step back this summer from working at Evergreen Community Charter School in the Summer Adventures Camp to focus on building my children’s yoga teacher business a little more. It was a tough decision though, I had been working within a welcoming and supportive community for the past 2 years. However, when you take the time and make space to create, new ideas, inspiration, and opportunities come to you.

And I haven’t wasted any time.

I have goals, ideas, and things I really want to pursue and accomplish this summer in order to open my kids yoga offerings up to a wider audience. As soon as the school year ended, I sat down and brainstormed a list of my intentions:

Goal #1: Create a Podcast

I am going to create a podcast to reach a wider audience of parents, teachers, and kids yoga teachers. It will be just guided mediations and relaxations for children and adults from my library of recordings, plus new original work.

Goal #2: Update YouTube

My YouTube channel needs lots of love y’all! My main goal here is to put up videos of the guided meditations an relaxations for children and adults with music and video in the background.

Goal #3: Road Map

Looking ahead to the rest of the year, I am going to think about the monthly themes, kids yoga lesson plans, blogs, and resources for each month. I am going to get a really good idea of the weekly newsletters, and daily Facebook posts.

Goal #4: Create Content

With time and space to create, I am already getting inspired to create more content (like this 3 part blog!) for the Yoga with Ms. Brandon website. The first project was to pull together a Kids Yoga Summer Camp Bundle from a pre-pandemic kids yoga summer camp season, the last one I taught in teh Summer of 2019, it was a blast!

6 weeks to go.

What, really!? Just 6 weeks left of this wonderful time to create and build the children yoga teacher business? Whew… Honestly though, this particular blog was a way to share, but also a testimonial to the community about my intentions. Its a way to keep me focused and on task, live up to the intentions. I will keep you posted on the results of the Creative Summer 2023. Sign up for my newsletter, if you haven’t already, to keep in touch and be a part of this journey of a Kids Yoga Teacher.

Ms. Brandon, RCYT, RYT500, holds a Master's degree in Special Education from Western Carolina University, is a highly qualified educator, and has 20 years' experience working with children and children with special needs. Information for the kids yoga blog come from Ms. Brandon’s 95 hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training RCYS, and is approved by Yoga Alliance.
