The Pirate Yoga Adventure builds on each lesson each day by first setting the environment on the tropical islands. Each lesson begins with intention setting and ends with a closing circle to review what was learned during the yoga session, whether about yoga or pirates. With a little yoga, breathing, games and creative movement, mindfulness, and relaxation in between. Each lesson also includes an art/craft project that complements the lesson well.
It’s recommended to teach this lesson as a series to the same group of children over a week, or a weekly series. It was one of my favorite Kids Yoga Summer Camps to lead. Here are some other ideas to add into a kids’ yoga summer camp:
Outside Free Tim
Quiet time/Journaling
Storytime
In my personal experience of teaching kids’ yoga summer camps, the children loved the free time outside, yoga games, and quiet resting time the best. These were the elements most shared when asked their favorite part of camp.
