Sharing is Caring

Back in November 2020, I developed a brand new website to showcase my kids yoga offerings to the world. I figured that since I was not able to teach yoga to kids in person, that I would share the creative kids yoga lesson plans that I developed with other kids yoga teachers so that they could teach in person classes. I stared slow, and of course went with the theme of the season winter. I used real pictures of myself, or kids, or nature scenes to draw attention to the kids yoga lesson plan and highlight the theme. Then I got creative…I offered unicorn yoga for free.

The lesson planning process in an enjoyable one. I love to sit down and create a themed kids yoga lesson plan to teach a group class. At the time, I did not have any group classes, but I could still create the lesson plan and share it with the world so that others could share the gift of yoga with children. Just knowing that the kids yoga lessons would be experienced by others and bring them joy was satisfying. I didn’t realize how wide spread the lesson plans would get.

As I mentioned above, I got creative and offered Unicorn Yoga for FREE. It was a cold winter night. A big snow storm was approaching the Eastern part of the country. We were in the kitchen baking chocolate muffins. And I began to receive several orders for the Unicorn Yoga lesson plan. Some were from out of state, but many were from out of the country! England, Ireland, Canada, France, Germany, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand were just a few of the countries that were downloading the kids yoga lesson plan. I was super excited!!

It is difficult to find the words to express the feeling of having the ideas that I put together spread so far across the country. WOW, is about all I can say. And this response kept me going. I started to create more Mythical Creature kids yoga lesson plans, and then moved on the the theme of Springtime Yoga for kids. Each month I would offer a free lesson plan to everyone, no strings attached. I recorded Guided Meditations and Relaxations for Kids and then Summertime and Fall themed bundles followed. All of which can be found in my online store.

So now we are all caught up. Thank you for reading and learning more about this journey of transition this past year. It has almost been a whole year since I rebranded myself and the kids yoga teacher business. And I can say from experience that this transition has been a transformative one. Diving deeper into web development, and building up the content on this site has been a creative process. In addition to the online store, I have added this Blog page and a Kids Yoga Resource page that has free resources for kids yoga teachers. So check those out!

The next few blogs will be about Yoga for Calm and ideas, resources, and lesson plans for teaching this to children. Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Yoga with Ms. Brandon, or sign up for a Newsletter to stay up to date on the next phase in this creative kids yoga process.
